Acute Intermittent Hypoxia in Paediatric SCI Rehabilitation

Dr Hossain is a Specialty Trainee (ST3) in Rehabilitation Medicine within the Thames Valley Deanery, currently working at the National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, UK. He also serves as a trainee representative for the Thames Valley Rehabilitation Medicine training programme, supporting trainee engagement and educational initiatives.

Dr Hossain has a strong academic interest in spinal cord injury rehabilitation and neurological recovery. His research interests include outcomes in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, pressure ulcer management and neuromodulation strategies aimed at improving functional recovery. He has published in the Springer Nature journal Spinal Cord Series and Cases, including a report on extensive neurological and functional recovery following transverse myelitis/acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) and a case series on Charcot spinal arthropathy.

Alongside his clinical training, he is actively involved in research, teaching, and conference presentations related to spinal cord injury and neurorehabilitation.
