New Insights Into Paediatric SCI Pain

Kirsten has over 30 years’ experience working with Spinal Cord Injury. 

She is the current paediatric physiotherapy lead at the National Spinal Injuries Centre, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, UK. Kirsten is also the clinical lead for the NSIC orthotics service, working in both inpatient rehabilitation and community settings, across the lifespan.

Kirsten has held a number of leadership roles throughout her three decades of experience with SCI, developing service provision and standard processes for the use of restorative technology and orthotics for paediatric SCI. In 2003, Kirsten was part of the team of clinicians that championed dedicated child and adolescent SCI services at the NSIC.  Accordingly, since 2004, Kirsten has dedicated her skills to the treatment of SCI children (0-19 yrs). 

Kirsten’s interests and skills lie in rehabilitation technology (including the use of electrical stimulation in rehabilitation), orthotic provision and growth and development following SCI.
