Berit Mus Christensen is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. Since 2009, she has worked in the area of occupational- and health psychology, and at the Spinal Cord Injury Centre of Western Denmark. She currently works at the Specialist Hospital for Polio and Accident Victims in Aarhus, Denmark; a highly specialised unit providing multi-disciplinary care and rehabilitation for patients with complex and rare conditions, including post-polio syndrome, spinal cord injury, and/or complex physical trauma. She also operates her own private practice.

Berit is a published author on the topic of emotional coping as a healthcare professional, having published “Myself as the tool: on being a professional with emotions”. This publication considers how to normalise the full human emotional repertoire experienced in professional lives, as an important step in coping professionally with inner experiences in the context of being a healthcare professional.

Berit is passionate about incorporating psychological knowledge and understanding in multidisciplinary settings, working from the psychological stance of third wave cognitive behavioral approaches. She is an established speaker and workshop leader on compassion fatigue for social and health care organizations across Denmark and internationally. She facilitates courses and training on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and offers supervision within this framework.
